The Internet Retailing Awards took place in London on the 26th of June at Sushisamba.
Celebrating success in the ecommerce retail sector, the ceremony honoured individuals whose creative, innovative ideas and solutions fuel sales.
The ceremony was supported by high-profile sponsors, including eBay and Amazon. The evening’s first honour was presented to Burberry, which took home to the Innovation Award for creating the most inspirational and inventive retail solution. The luxury label also earned the IRIS Award (Internet Retailing In-Store) for its technology-rich flagship store, which has an “integrated, inspiring brand environment that had set the standard against which other brands are compared,” according to a press release.
eBay was honoured for creating a strong, user-friendly mobile experience and ASOS received the International gong, which recognises the importance of success abroad, for its pioneering global expansion. The clothing retailer also took home the Judges Award for numerous achievements tied to its continuing growth and continuing innovations.
Speaking about the honour, editor-in-chief of Internet Retailing Magazine Ian Jindal, said: “ASOS have revolutionised ecommerce and constantly deliver across all channels and set the industry standard for excellence so it is no surprise that our judges, who are themselves industry leaders, have awarded them with the coveted Judges award.”
