Walk the Walk a bra-filled success

Over 17,000 people took part in a charity marathon walk through London to raise money for breast cancer research while decked out in wildly embellished bras.

Keeping with the Walk the Walk’s “fly me to the moon” theme, women decorated their bras with celestial elements, including stars, aliens, and pictures of even Star Wars characters. Other bras were outfitted with sequins, marabou and bursts of pink, the signature colour of breast cancer awareness.

Participants could opt to walk 13 or 26 miles for the event, which began at Battersea Power Station and took participants past a host of famous London sites, including Big Ben and Hyde Park.

Several celebrities participated in the walk, including comedian Jennifer Saunders, herself a breast cancer survivor, journalist Susanna Reid, and actress Sally Phillips, of Bridget Jones fame.

Since the event began 17 years ago, Walk the Walk has raised over £85 million for breast cancer causes.
