Wacoal Europe presented its SS16 collections in Amsterdam last night to an audience of buyers, VIPs and the press.
The group showcased lingerie and swimwear collections from Freya, Elomi, Fantasie, Huit, Wacoal and b.tempt’d during a spectacular catwalk show featuring live music and acrobats.
Highlights from the show included Visite Privée, an ivory collection from Huit made of intricate embroidery and gold Lurex thread over delicate tulle.
Another impressive range was the Enchanting collection from Wacoal. Designed in Switzerland, this neon pink range features a floral design teamed with polo-spot, all-over embroidery and guipure strap trim.
Freya and Fantasie wowed the audience with fruity colours of strawberry, lime and tangerine, and directional prints. A firm favourite of Lingerie Insight’s was an asymmetric swimsuit from Fantasie. This turned heads with its oversized green leaf print and brushed-metal effect rings.
Fuller-figure brand Elomi showcased a varied range of lingerie and swimwear, from teal satin bras and a butterfly-printed set in red and black to a metallic, leopard-printed bikini and a floral tankini in purple and blue.
Finally, b.tempt’d presented its b.sumptuous collection, a seductive and striking collection in a vibrant coral colour. The range features a large stretch lace floral motif and double shoe-string straps.
Speaking to the audience ahead of the show at the Tobacco Theatre, Wacoal Europe general manager for the EMEA markets Hans Hornemann said: “We face big competition from companies like Triumph and Victoria’s Secret, but we are the biggest lingerie company in the world in terms of retail sales with a retail value higher than anyone else in the market. In the next 12 months our retail partners will see huge developments both in innovation and product developments.”
