Victoria’s Secret is set to open its UK flagship store on New Bond Street, according to a recent podcast by Limited Brands executive vice president Martyn Redgrave.
The company will be looking to trial up to three stores in the country next year.
Redgrave told WWD: “The mall-based stores will be large box, A-mall-type units with full assortments, but they’re in the UK, not the US, and we have to learn. That’s what we’re looking to do as we expand, in the UK, in particular."
The move to the UK is occurring in a period of rapid international expansion for the company. Victoria’s Secret recently opened two new stores in the Gulf, as it looks to capitalise on the region’s growing retail market.
The new outlets are based in the Kingdom Centre of Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh and in Bahrain’s City Centre.
Victoria’s Secret, part of US fashion chain Limitedbrands, has seven stores in retail hubs across the Gulf already, including three in Dubai, two in Kuwait and one in Qatar.
The Doha store was also unveiled last month and was Victoria’s Secret first outlet in the state.
