Victoria’s Secret and one of its most famous Angels, Gisele Bündchen, will go head to head later this year, when they open their first lingerie stores in Brazil.
The retailer will begin selling garments from its branded shop in Sao Paulo in May – the same month that the first Gisele Bündchen Intimates store will open in the city, reports Bloomberg.
Bündchen, who modelled the Sexy Splendor Fantasy Bra at Victoria’s Secret’s annual fashion show in 2005, has teamed up with Sao Paulo-based lingerie maker Hope to build her line and retail presence.
In return, the supermodel will help Hope open stores in London, New York and Los Angeles next year, Fabio Figueiredo, the company’s director of expansion, told the online news site.
“Gisele is our best brand today,” he said. “We still have lots of room for growth in Brazil, but we have to think strategically where we want to grow and we want to be a global brand.”
