Victoria’s Secret has been voted the most popular lingerie brand by women in the UK and the US.
In a survey conducted on Facebook by the Lingerie List, a lingerie blogger based in the UK, women were asked to name their favourite lingerie brand.
The survey received over 700 responses from women aged between 20 and 55, but less than 30 brands were named, with Victoria’s Secret receiving 37% of votes.
Runners up were high street stores La Senza, which received 19.49% of the votes despite no longer operating stores in the UK, followed by Boux Avenue (12.41%) and Ann Summers (11.65%).
While a high street presence certainly helped the most popular brands, it didn’t guarantee votes – Marks & Spencer was once the go-to for bra fitting and lingerie in the UK, but only 1.52% of women said it was their favourite brand.
As many women opted for Curvy Kate as Freya – both receiving 2.03% of the votes – while For Love & Lemons trailed behind with 1.27% of the votes.
Meanwhile, Playful Promises, an independent brand and social media favourite, received 0.76% of the votes – more than international super brand Wonderbra, which received just 0.51% of the votes.
Luxury brands such as Agent Provocateur and La Perla had few nominations, which may be a reflection of budgets rather than brand awareness. Just 0.13% of women voted La Perla their favourite lingerie brand, while AP received 2.53% of the votes.
