Victoria’s Secret goes green in forest-friendly sourcing bid

Victoria’s Secret and its sister brands Pink and La Senza have announced a commitment to the responsible sourcing of the fabrics they uses in their lingerie.   

They have pledged to track the source of its wood-based fabrics and eliminate those sources connected to rainforest destruction and the violation of human rights.

The brand’s parent company L Brands implemented a new Forest Products Procurement Policy, aimed at eliminating destructive sources of wood pulp.

L Brands published a statement on their website reading: “Our Forest Products Procurement Policy is written to reduce threats to ancient and endangered forests and to avoid products that contribute to deforestation or human rights abuses.”

Rainforest Action Network has been hitting out at brands for irresponsible sourcing and more and more clothing lines are announcing their commitment to the ‘Out of Fashion’ campaign.
