Very hails brands for fundraising success at Lingerie Street event

Online fashion retailer Very has announced that its Lingerie Street event, which took place in Liverpool last week, raised over £900 for charity.

Some of the industry’s leading lingerie brands gathered at Shop Direct’s headquarters in Speke on Wednesday to showcase their latest collections to lingerie-loving consumers and host bake sales, lingerie giveaways and raffles.

In just three hours, they managed to gain £900.55 for Claire’s House Children’s Hospice.

The brands involved were Calvin Klein, Charnos hosiery, Jonathan Aston, Passionata, Heidi Klum Intimates, Miraclesuit, Bluebella, Curvy Kate, Freya, Wonderbra, Shock Absorber, Playtex and Gossard.

Margaret Lythgoe, sales manager for Wacoal Europe told Lingerie Insight: “It was fantastic to take part in the Very Lingerie Street event, raising funds for such an important cause. We were super busy throughout the event and received an excellent reaction to showcasing our Freya Fancies range.”

Speaking on behalf of Bluebella, David Finlayson, founder of APM Agency said: “We had a great day at Shop Direct’s Lingerie Street event and, at times, it was so busy we could barely get the money into the Claire House cash bucket!

“We were very impressed with the amount of effort all the brands put in and the feedback from everyone attending was excellent. Overall, it was really fun day and it’s true, scousers are very generous.”

Rachel Senior, an account manager at Gossard commented: “This unique event created an amazing, uplifting buzz as streams of happy, generous people gathered. It was lovely to see lingerie brands uniting for such a worthy charity, we felt very proud and honoured to have been part of this special day”.
