A model for underwear and swimwear retailer Vanilla Blush has hit the headlines for reaching the Body Building World Finals, less than a year after undergoing ileostomy surgery.
Zoey Wright, who only 10 months ago went through traumatic surgery leading to her having a stoma, qualified for the November finals after triumphing at an event last night.
Wright is considered one of Vanilla Blush’s up-and-coming stars, modelling the brand’s award-winning ostomy lines, which have won it huge plaudits.
Nicola Dames, CEO of the company, said: “I am delighted for Zoey. She is one of our rising model stars, and we are excited about the soon up-and-coming release of some of her fantastic modeling work with us. Zoe is a fantastic young woman and I look forward to supporting her in the World Finals on November 22.”
Cornwall-born Wright, 23, won first place in the Pure Elite Figure and Body Transformation category at yesterday’s event.
She said: “I am over the proverbial moon that I have qualified for the World Championships. Pure Elite is the fastest growing fitness muscle model competition in Europe. Body builders from all across the world compete.
“And I am so proud of the fact that I’ve made it to the final, and the fact that I have a Stoma has never been an issue, this is simply about striving to be the best, which is about what is inside a person.”
Vanilla Blush may have another reason to celebrate this week. The Scottish brand is a finalist in the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce Business Awards 2015 and finds out on Thursda
