US company Cheeky Aprons LLC has unveiled a new range of lingerie – for the kitchen.
The brand, which is the brainchild of 25 year old event planner Ashlee Coln, launches today in Denver.
It offers a range of products that have been designed specifically to be worn when cooking.
Coln told local paper The Denver Post: “I’ve always loved to cook, but one night after a few cocktails, I realized cooking in sassy lingerie could ruin the garment and cooking in the nude usually leads to injury.”
Prices for products range from $60 for a baking skirt with a built-in garter belt through to $90 for a full apron – featuring a plunging neckline and a lace midsection – in zebra print or polka dots.
Coln added: “Some women will feel this is a throw-back idea to the ‘Apron Era,’ where a woman’s only place was in the home and kitchen… I support whatever makes a woman feel wonderful in her own skin. The aprons make me feel feminine and sophisticated with a little bit of sass.”
Since launching on Tuesday, the brand’s website www.cheeky-lingerie.com has already crashed due to unanticipated level of interest from consumers.
