There are 20 categories in the UK Lingerie Awards but it’s safe to say that the prize for Lingerie Brand of the Year is one of the most hotly anticipated.
The five finalists in this year’s awards were Chantelle, Charnos, F&F, Gossard and Wacoal. Any of these brands would have been a deserved winner after the years they have had, but in the eyes of the judges the name that stood out the most was Gossard.
The British lingerie brand has been steadily growing throughout the UK and overseas over the last couple of years, forming partnerships with US distributor Eastman Staples and stockists such as John Lewis, and broadening its consumer reach through a number of exciting campaigns fronted by Neighbours actress Olympia Valance.
Under the leadership of general manager Elise Recour, who assumed the role in May 2015, the brand has also expanded its product portfolio to much success.
This has included reviving the Gypsy bra, which was made famous in the 80s, launching new innovations, such as the Super Smooth wire-free push-up, and adding new colours and shapes to its best-selling Superboost and Glossies collections.
It is the second time that Gossard has been crowned Lingerie Brand of the Year in the last three years. It also won the prestigious title in 2013.
