Katie Atkinson, senior editor of intimates and swim at WGSN, was part of the judging panel that oversaw the brand categories of the 2015 UK Lingerie Awards. Here, she explains why it’s exciting to see brands embracing digital platforms in their quest for growth.
Which category impressed you the most and why?
I really enjoyed the Marketing Campaign of the Year category. It was really great to see brands thinking outside the box and being innovative with using digital media in their marketing campaigns.
Why are the UK Lingerie Awards important to today’s industry?
It’s really important to give exposure to new brands, and to credit the brands that excel in their field.
How can a lingerie brand stand out in the market from its competitors?
I think it’s important to really think outside the box when it comes to advertising and connecting with your customer.
