The UK Fashion and Textile Association (UKFT) is adding a Lingerie and Beachwear category to its annual awards gala.
New for 2014, the Natwest UKFT Awards will split the Brand Award into four sub-categories, honouring great British brands across menswear, womenswear, childrenswear and lingerie & beachwear.
UKFT CEO John Miln explained the decision to Lingerie Insight: “Lingerie and Beachwear plays a key role in the British fashion and textile industry. With abundant talent in the trade and represented throughout our membership, UKFT wanted to honour those brands and designers producing exquisite products.”
The Awards, to take place on 22 May, 2014, will open to members and non-members of the UKFT, who can enter at www.ukftawards.org by 23 February.
The build-up to the event will see the UK’s hottest emerging designers battle it out for the coveted UKFT Rise Award – previously won by Emma J. Shipley in 2013. Likewise, the Designer Business Award will recognise the creative and commercial success of the UK’s most influential and established designers, won last year by Christopher Raeburn.
Miln added: “The UK fashion industry is undoubtedly one of the most exciting and innovative in the world right now, so we’re honoured to be able to recognise the many talented and inspiring people that make it so great.
