The golden trophies for the 2012 UK Lingerie Awards have arrived and are ready to be engraved with the names of this year’s winners.
The iconic trophies, which were described by last year’s winners as ‘stunning Oscars-style statuettes’ weigh a hefty 2kg each.
“We love these trophies. The feminine curves, the proportion, the gold – they make me proud that the hard working and talented professionals of the British intimate apparel industry have the quality awards trophies and ceremony that they so richly deserve,” said Kat Slowe, editor of Lingerie Insight, which hosts the UK Lingerie Awards.
UK Lingerie Award winners from last year have reported considerable boosts in business confidence, internal morale and sales. Chloe Hamblen, founder of Lascivious, which won Independent Directional Brand of the Year in 2011 said: “It was a real boost to receive the award and, as a small team, everyone felt a sense of shared achievement. An accolade of this kind helps to strengthen the brand and creates further awareness of what we do.”
Cake Lingerie, which won Maternity Brand of the Year, said the award led directly to new business. “The award had a significant role to play and has helped us secure a number of key department stores around the world,” explained Tracey Montford, creative director for the brand.
