The UK Lingerie Awards 2013 in association with Fashion Forms is making the headlines today, with newspapers and magazines from Reveal to the Daily Mail covering the event.
The consumer press turned out to photograph celebrities from Imogen Thomas to Danny Jones as they made their way into the Freemason’s Hall in London’s Covent Garden last night.
Most magazines and newspapers, including the Daily Star and the Daily Mirror, focused on Irish model Georgia Salpha, who wore a sheer lace corset by Agent Provocateaur to the party.
“Opting for a daring see-through corset, Georgia ensured all eyes were on one thing, sorry two things, and two things only. And even though it wasn’t actually compulsory to wear lingerie to the bash, she told her Twitter followers it was a ‘great excuse’ to don her undies,” OK! Magazine reported.
Meanwhile, the Metro ran a gallery of photos which were taken in front of the UK Lingerie Award’s photo wall, inside the hall.
Business to business online publication Fashion Directory steered away from the celebrity coverage and reported on lingerie brand Gossard’s success at the awards.
The British took home two prizes from the event – the UK’s Favourite Lingerie Brand of the Year, which was voted for by the public, and the Lingerie Brand of the Year.
The UK Lingerie Awards doubled in size for 2013, with consumers invited to the event for the first time. Over 500 people attended the event and 22 awards were handed out inside the Freemason’s temple.
