TightsPlease acquires 75% stake in MyTights

Two of the UK’s leading hosiery retailers, MyTights.com and TightsPlease.co.uk, have announced that they are merging assets.

Bobbie Bhogal, director of TightsPlease, has taken a 75% stake in MyTights, in order to leverage their combined databases.

"There is a real opportunity to become a dominant player in this marketplace and, with this partnership, I am certain that we can achieve that goal,” said Bhogal.

MyTights will be the trading partner going forward, although both brands will remain trading as individual websites.

Laura Godsal, the founder of MyTights, will be the managing director of the joint business, overseeing both brands.

Explaining the merger, Godsal said: “TightsPlease.co.uk was keen to access MyTights.com’s efficient back-office systems, same-day delivery London service and product expertise. This move really is tremendously exciting.

“Bobbie’s experience as well as access to his group’s resources will enable us to boost all facets of our business and allow us to leverage our extensive combined databases. By uniting the businesses, but allowing them to trade as different brands, we will be able to create distinct online retail spaces that cater to all women’s hosiery needs,” she added.

TightsPlease will move its operations to MyTights’ London offices, where both businesses databases and resources will be united.

In the near future consumers will see increasing brand differentiation between MyTights.com and TightsPlease.co.uk, with each looking to target different market sectors.
