The Lingerie Journal publisher Luis Paredes said: "The Designer Showcase is a buying experience that brings together lingerie designers and buyers.

"It’s economical for the exhibitor and a great way for buyers to engage in one-on-one business with designers."

The inspiration for Designer Showcase stemmed from the desire to improve the New York lingerie trade show experience for both exhibitors and buyers, explained Paredes.

"The biggest concern we hear from lingerie brands that are just starting out is that they simply don’t have the budget to be part of a large trade show,” he said. “They also don’t want to be lost in an ocean of booths filled with their competitors.

"For lingerie buyers, the concern is that large trade shows in New York are simply overwhelming and many feel they can’t make a personal connection with the people they may do business with. At a our Designer Showcase, buyers have the chance to visit lingerie brands in a relaxing apartment studio and meet with designers and take the time to inspect and feel the quality of their creations."

Paredes added: "We’re not here to compete with the other trade shows. We’re here to provide another option to both designers and buyers."

Designer Showcase will promote five lingerie brands, including Layla L’obatti’s brand Between the Sheets Lingerie.
