The Lingerie Edit names Best Brand winners AW16

London trade show The Lingerie Edit (TLE) has announced the winners of its Best Brand Awards, voted for by buyers and the press.

Loveday London, the self-titled hardcore romance label, picked up the Buyers’ Best Brand Award for the third time in the show’s history.

Brand owner Luisa Loveday said she was “overwhelmed” to claim the title, adding that the Lingerie Edit was a “huge success”, with current and potential buyers stopping at the stand.

New brands exhibiting at the Lingerie Edit Atelier, a section of the show that presented emerging independent labels, were given the opportunity to claim the APM Atelier Award, voted for by the press.

London-based luxury lingerie brand Fréolic was awarded the title this season.

The label will now be given top-level training by TLE founder and APM Agency director David Finlayson.

This training will include a Skype call once per month where goals and targets will be set for the brand, as a way of ‘fast tracking’ them into intimates trade success.

TLE took place on January 11-12 at the Savoy Hotel.

Thirty brands presented their AW16 lingerie and nightwear collections to buyers from major retailers such as Selfridges, Harvey Nichols and Fenwick.

Independent retailers Coco de Mer, Ayla Rose and Dolci Follie also attended.

TLE organisers David Finlayson and Tamar Kendall said they were thrilled with the outcome and would like to thank all the brands that chose to exhibit, as well as the buyers that travelled from around the UK and worldwide to attend and place AW16 orders.

Tamar Kendall commented: "Interest in the show is growing every season and we already have a huge list of brands wanting to exhibit in July, which we will announce dates for shortly. It is a real pleasure to be supporting the UK and global lingerie industry in this way, and of course it’s vital to us that we continue to provide a platform in London – the fashion capital of the world! Thank you to everyone involved in this event, we can’t wait to welcome you all back in July."
