Take Me Out appearance pays off for emerging lingerie designer

Consumer interest in a new latex lingerie brand has reached fever pitch after its designer and founder appeared on Take Me Out last week.

Helen Teiman, a Contour Fashion graduate from De Montfort University and founder of Amentium Latex, bagged herself a date on the ITV programme after just two episodes but later admitted that she only went on the show to promote her business, Amentium Latex.

Despite her short stint on the show, Teiman’s brand has attracted a wave of new customers and its social media reach has soared.

“I offer latex hire services and that was very popular when I was on the show. I actually had to turn down a few hires as the stock was already out for hire,” Teiman told Lingerie Insight.

“The brand’s YouTube subscription list has peaked, the number of Instagram and Twitter followers has doubled and Facebook has gained a few hundred more likes.”

Teiman said her appearance on Take Me Out has also helped dispel the negative connotations surrounding latex.

“My appearance on the show has made people realise that latex isn’t all about hard core fetish – it can be worn in a fashion-forward way too.”
