A range of lingerie suppliers and Marks & Spencer will be taking part in a special lingerie and swimwear fayre for breast cancer patients in Devon next month.
The event is organised by charity FORCE (Friends of the Oncology and Radiotherapy Centre, Exeter), which hosts two of these events each year, offering women who have had surgery the opportunity to meet suppliers and get one-to-one advice from retail experts.
Representatives from shops in Devon will be giving women an exclusive chance to see first-hand a large selection of underwear and swimwear when the event takes place on Thursday November 12 from 5pm-8pm.
The Exeter branch of Marks and Spencer will be presenting a range of lingerie and will also be providing refreshments.
Regional department stores Austins and Banburys are again supporting the event along with mastectomy wear specialist Nicola Jane.
FORCE oncology support specialist, Emma Ellis, said the event offers a great chance to meet other women who share a unique level of understanding and can offer tips, help and advice on what works when you experience a change of body image. Information on prosthetics is also available.
“The evenings are very popular,” said. “The suppliers bring an excellent range of items for people to browse. What is especially lovely is to see a group of women chatting together over coffee, offering each other support and advice. It makes the whole event worthwhile.”
