Gary Spendlove, the managing director of British nightwear brand Slenderella, has helped raise more than £2,500 for charity after completing a 100 mile walk.
Spendlove, who is also the Mayor of Belper, was joined by his son Ashley, World Transplant Games athlete Simon Elmore and 40 other people in raising awareness around organ donations, organ transplants and the importance of carrying donor cards.
Walk for Life took place around Derbyshire and Nottingham, and the Mayor stopped at schools, hospitals, fire stations and police stations along the way.
“Hearing the many stories from people with first-hand experience was such an eye opener,” Spendlove said.
“Although fund raising was not the priority, over £2,500 has been raised so far for four worthy causes.”
