L’Agent by Agent Provocateur, the diffusion line designed alongside Penélope and Mónica Cruz, has unveiled a new lingerie collection inspired by theatricality and showgirls of the past.
The SS16 collection is designed to be seen, with wear-anywhere pieces and decadent occasion wear made using luxurious fabrics.
The popular Odessa style with its matte cirée leopard-print embroidery is re-imagined in wild ruby red or electric cobalt for true starlet appeal, whilst the ‘Mariona’ returns enriched with a pop of cherry red via the bows and trimmings.
The Adriana is a fantasy of barely-there tulle that pops with splashy neon floral embroidery, and the Idalia is a breath of fresh air with its mint colour that promises to invigorate any audience.
La Belle Epoque, a period of Western European history when wealthy upper classes gave themselves over to a life of elegance and pleasure, inspires the more seductive looks in the collection.
The design team looked to the glamorous denizens of the era to create show-stopping pieces such as the Sylvana, a fantasia in black and cobalt blue, which uses a new technique overlaying cut-out lace with fishnet and power mesh.
The Gia is another piece of black magic, employing fishnet lace in its sharp contouring slip and high apex bra.
Meanwhile, Rosella is made for night-time titillation thanks to its uplifting bandeau-effect bra and deep suspenders.
Other stand-out pieces include Layla, a bodysuit made using moulded lace and Grace, featuring rose gold eyelash lace.
L’Agent has also focused on the derrière this season, with detailed knickers designed to highlight and flatter the curves.
Delicate ruching can be found on ultra-feminine styles such as Kaity, Dani or Layla, whilst Trixie knickers in ranges such as Estella and Casie feature cheeky cut-outs and double strapping to draw attention.
