Shock Absorber has announced that its Ultimate Run Bra was voted Best Women’s Sports Bra at the 2015 Women’s Running Awards.
The award, presented by athlete and British 1500m champion, Jemma Simpson, is the eighth accolade for the Ultimate Run Bra, which is specifically designed for runners.
Shock Absorber was also highly commended for its Active Multi Sports Bra.
The Ultimate Run Bra was developed in partnership with specialists in breast health at the University of Portsmouth in 2009, where research was conducted to better understand the impact of running on the breasts and body.
Findings from this research informed the design team to create targeted support and advanced technical features, including seam-free and concealed elastic to reduce chafing and wide-padded straps with non-slip technology.
It has been proven to reduce breast bounce by up to 78% and does so using the ‘Infinity 8 Support’ system, which counteracts the figure of 8 breast movement during running.
The Running Awards 2015, hosted on April 24 at the Indigo at The O2, is hailed as a celebration of running in the UK. All winners are decided by the voting public.
Shock Absorber marketing manager Martina Alexander commented: “Our sports bras are designed to improve performance as well as confidence when exercising and we are very proud to have been voted first and second place in the “Best Women’s Sports Bra” category; we are especially thrilled that the awards are voted by runners themselves.”
