Shimmy Lingerie exceeds crowdfunding target with 8 days to go

Shimmy founder Gemma Hughes with her business partner and brother, Daryl, at INDX Intimate Apparel.

Shimmy Lingerie, a start-up business that is looking to build the largest collection of shoppable lingerie videos in Europe, has exceeded its initial £11,000 funding target through its online campaign on Crowdfunder.

The initiative was launched last month and has eight days until its closing date.

So far, the company has raised £11,015 from 33 investors, including exhibitors at INDX Intimate Apparel.

The funds will be used to set up a shoppable video channel for the lingerie and swimwear industries.

Any additional investments will go towards paying for the state-of-the-art equipment required to create quality video content.

The new project allows brands to send lingerie and swimwear samples to Shimmy’s studio in Preston and, in return, they will receive a high-quality video that they can embed onto their websites and social media, free of charge.

Participants will then be given the opportunity to make their video content shoppable through Shimmy’s affiliate scheme.
