Scots have UK’s biggest busts, says Debenhams

Scottish women have the biggest busts in the UK, sales figures from Debenhams show.

The department store revealed that Scottish women have an average bra size of a 34DD, two cup sizes bigger than their 34C English neighbours.

Welsh women came out with the smallest average cup size at 34B, whilst Irish ladies measured in at 34C, the same as the English, when store bosses analysed recent sales figures.

Sharon Webb, head of Debenhams Lingerie commented: “We have seen a dramatic difference in Scottish bust sizes vs. the rest of the UK; our fuller bust ranges have been particularly popular with Scots.”

The news follows research by the department store which shows 63% of women are wearing the wrong size bra.

Today, the retailer launches its 2014 bra fit campaign, encouraging women across the nation to go into their nearest store for a complimentary bra fit.

“No matter how busty you are – our bra fit campaign aims to raise awareness of the importance of wearing the correct size bra and encourage women across the country to be fitted regularly,” added Webb.
