Rihanna eyes entry to the intimate apparel industry

World-famous pop singer Rihanna is poised to make her entry into the lingerie industry just months after launching her cosmetics brand.

The Barbadian musician has reportedly locked in a deal with fashion group TechStyle, the parent company of Fabletics. After details of the deal emerged, Harper’s Bazaar reported that Rihanna is poised to launch her debut lingerie line.

The publication added that Rihanna has been collaborating with the company on a line of lingerie for approximately a year and a half and that product samples have already been created.

The singer’s intimate apparel entry comes months after the launch of her inclusive make-up range Fenty Beauty, which takes its name from Rihanna’s less-known surname.

The partnership is not the first celebrity collaboration for little-known TechStyle. The company, previously known as JustFab, also manages Fablectic, which was co-founded by A-list actress Kate Hudson.

The company transitioned from JustFab to TechStyle in 2016 in a bid to streamline its corporate image and be recognised as a tech-based, brand building platform.
