New reports are shedding light on online shopping habits, providing insights into a market expected to double in value by 2018.
A poll of 1,000 US consumer by the Huffington Post and YouGov revealed 32% of adults never shop online, 22% do so only once a year, and 34% will only shop in stores.
The survey also discovered 14% of adults divide their shopping between stores and websites, whilst only 2% shop exclusively online.
Market analysis company Ystats recently published the Global Clothing B2C E-Commerce Report 2013, which discovered clothing is the top item in eCommerce sales and a third of the world’s internet users purchased or attempted to purchase apparel online last year.
The report also found nearly half of adults in the UK browses the web to purchase clothes and nearly 50% of French internet users looked online for an item of clothing in 2012.
Shopping for clothes online is also common in Eastern Europe and in Russia, where web sales of clothes and shoes rose by over 40% in 2012.
