Read Lingerie Insight's September edition online

The September edition of Lingerie Insight is now available to read online, packed with the latest business news, designer interviews and a special report on online retailers.

The issue kicks off with the news that Michelle Mone is resigning from the boards of Ultimo and its related company, MJM International, to focus on her new role as a government adviser.

Mone announced in August that she had been appointed by the government to conduct a review into how best to encourage start-ups in areas of high unemployment.

But despite her resignation from the board, Mone will still continue to support the brand at promotional events.

On September 10, she will discuss the inspiration behind Ultimo’s AW15 collection at the ‘In Conversation with Ultimo’ event at House of Fraser’s Oxford Street store.

Over the page, father and son Gary and Ashley Spendlove of Slenderella tell the captivating story of their heritage brand.

From their offices in Derbyshire, they explain how the brand was started in the 1920s by Henry Freedman, a successful businessman who overcame many struggles to reach the top.

Nearly 100 years later, the lingerie and nightwear label is still expanding.

Also in this issue, we’ve published a comprehensive study into the customer reach of the UK’s biggest lingerie and swimwear e-tailers.

The Reach List is the first ever guide to the most powerful e-tailers operating in the UK intimate apparel industry today.

It examines the biggest lingerie, swimwear and hosiery retailers, and measures their digital footprint across the UK using quantitative analysis of traffic to their websites, total number of Facebook likes, Twitter followers and Instagram followers.

E-tailers that came out on top of the list include Marks & Spencer, Harrods, Victoria’s Secret and Lovehoney.

The Reach List also features insightful comments from ecommerce experts, who discuss the importance of e-tailing and engaging with customers through their websites and social media channels.

Post-surgery lingerie is also a major topic in the September issue of Lingerie Insight. In a special report, we interviewed leading brands in this sector about how they are working with retailers to bring post-surgery styles into the mainstream.

We also picked out the top lingerie and swimwear garments on the market for women who have had mastectomy, lumpectomy, reconstruction, breast augmentation and reduction surgery.
