Raine & Bea wins Lancashire business award

A Lancashire-based lingerie label has won a local business award for its commitment to UK manufacturing.

Raine & Bea has announced that it triumphed in the Made in the Ribble Valley category at the Ribble Valley Business Awards, a ceremony that was attended by over 250 businesses and local dignitaries.

Commenting on the win, founder and designer Jenna Barnes said: “It’s fantastic to have this recognition after relocating to the area 12 months ago [Raine & Bea was previously based in Manchester].

“We were happy to just be nominated and certainly didn’t expect to win.”

Barnes was once tasked with making 40 made-to-measure costumes for the musical ‘Cabaret’, including a corset worn by Will Young, and has designed bespoke garments for Kylie Minogue and Alesha Dixon.

Her latest collection, named Cassiopeia, combines Swarovski crystals, ostrich feathers, fine silks and steel-boned corsetry.
