Punto Blanco, one of Spain’s biggest fashion and intimate apparel names, is coming to the UK.
The brand, which was born out of a textile and design company over 60 years ago, will present its spring summer 2013 collections at AIS and Salon de la Lingerie in Paris next month, before heading to Birmingham’s Moda in August.
The Spanish giant is part of Corporacio Empresarial Valls, a conglomerate of six companies involved in business ranging from textiles to graphic arts.
The underwear company was launched in 1948 when its two founders started manufacturing socks under the Punto Blanco name.
The success of those socks in the Spanish market led to expansion into lingerie, men’s underwear and swimwear that are now exported to more than 35 countries across Europe, Asia and America.
Punto Blanco will be represented in the UK by Eastman Staples Ltd, a Huddersfield-headquartered manufacturer of everything from industrial components to lingerie accessories under the By Wishes brand name.
Details of the collaboration are expected to be revealed during the trade show season along with UK retailers’ first glimpse at the spring summer 2013 collections.
