A proud employee who, as a teenager, worked for Slenderella brand Brettles, has sung the praises of the company after returning to work there aged 62.
Geoff Futter, now the site manager at women’s nightwear and lingerie company Slenderella, which has its headquarters on Queen Street in Belper, first worked for Brettles picking women’s knickers when he was16.
Slenderella Wholesale is reportedly bucking the recession trend, having just experienced its best ever year, with a 12 percent growth in exports. It is looking to continue its expansion over the following months.
Futter said: “My first job was at Brettles picking women’s knickers when I was 16. Now, at the age of 62 and after a successful career in finance, I am back in the same job again! I am pleased for the company. It is flying in the face of the recession and employing local people in these hard times.”
