Budget high street fashion retailer Primark has announced a new addition to its senior management team with the appointment of a new head of womenswear.

The retailer has announced that the position will be helmed by Paula Dumont Lopez as of next Friday (January 12).

“Paula has a wealth of international fashion experience, and joins from Esprit where she was senior vice president and head of women’s clothing. Prior to that, she was head of product at Zara, where she worked for 10 years.”

The appointment comes after Dumont Lopez was expected to join New Look. When New Look’s chief executive Anders Kristiansen left his position in September last year, the company retracted the employment offer Kristiansen had extended to her.

It has been reported that Dumont Lopez was appointed to lead the company into new pricing ranges following rapid growth over the past 12 months.
