The legwear brand Pretty Polly has announced a collaboration with the American fashion label alice + olivia by Stacey Bendet.
The alice + olivia for Pretty Polly collection will feature "modern yet playful pieces" that reflect the styles of both brands.
Pretty Polly entered the US market two years ago through a network of major global retailers, and both brands hope to increase international recognition through the collaboration.
Stacey Bendet, alice + olivia creative director and CEO, said: “I love legwear. I feel like it’s such an important component to how we style and wear our clothe – it’s sexy and girly and fun. Pretty Polly creates beautiful, fun, energetic legwear and we are excited to partner with them! Our Career collection is perfectly complemented by the not-so-basic “Basics” collection, lending itself to layering with mini-skirts and every day dresses. The “Sheers” group is perfect for party dressing, which we of course love. The “Print” collection is the standout piece in any outfit, and the “Novelty” collection is for the quintessential alice + olivia girl, who is quirky, feminine and sexy."
President of alice + olivia, Deanna Berkeley, said the collaboration is the first step to a larger strategic initiative of the brand’s development in the hosiery category, which could represent more than $25million retail within its first three years, adding: “Hosiery is a natural extension of the alice + olivia lifestyle offering. It is our intention to have an ongoing presence for alice + olivia in the hosiery market."
The brands are talking to their mutual retail partners about a wider wholesale distribution for autumn/winter 2013, and the collection will be available at all alice + olivia retail stores and at aliceandolivia.com.
