Clare Gorton is responsible for one of Debenhams’ hero categories, fuller-bust lingerie.
Together with her team, Clare has edited a comprehensive range of great fitting lingerie, with product sizes available up to a 40J.
Fuller-bust brands stocked by the retailer include Debenhams’ own-brand Gorgeous, alongside best-selling labels Freya and Fantasie.
Clare’s passion for providing customers with choice, fit, support and service has resulted in record highs in Debenhams’ market share for fuller-bust lingerie, which now stands at 13.2%.
Clare has been in the lingerie industry for over 15 years and shares her expertise and knowledge with the greater Debenhams team, ensuring that she develops and passes on her expertise to those around her.
Speaking at a fuller-bust roundtable debate hosted by Lingerie Insight, she spoke about how the DD+ lingerie market has evolved of the last 10 years.
“I think there is a lot more choice nowadays. If you go back a couple of years, you really wouldn’t have got a lot of fashionable bras; there would have just been a lot of plain, simple, very covered bras. Finding a neon bra in anything bigger than a D cup would have been practically impossible,” she said.
“Now, the DD brands have almost got different personalities. You’ve got Curvy Kate with their Star in Bra campaign and getting the customer to become the face of the brand, and then you’ve got the likes of Lepel, which has that younger element.”
