Lucy Litwack was named in our prestigious Brand Champions category in 2017, but she is now ranked in our Business Big Shots list after recently leading a management buyout of Coco de Mer with the backing of unnamed international institutional investors.
Now the owner of the company, she has big plans for the luxury lingerie and erotica fashion house, including international expansion.
“The MBO provides us with a strong platform and supports our strategy to grow the business internationally at the luxury end of the market, where Coco de Mer is already well positioned and has a very strong customer base,” Lucy said.
Since joining Coco de Mer as managing director in 2014, Lucy has been responsible for driving an annual revenue growth of around 50% despite a challenging retail environment.
Under her leadership, the Covent Garden boutique punches above its weight with global recognition and strong brand positioning.
Lucy is also responsible for launching the wholesale arm of the business in 2016, developing an own-brand collection that is now stocked at Selfridges, Harrods and Matchesfashion.com.
She has collaborated with several luxury brands and celebrities during her time at Coco de mer, including actress and model Pamela Anderson, who was appointed as brand ambassador in 2017; Fifty Shades of Grey author E L James, whom she collaborated with on an exclusive lingerie range; and renowned fashion photographer Rankin.
Lucy has a passion for mentoring future lingerie designers and has worked with De Montfort University and London College of Fashion on numerous projects, such as judging graduate collections, teaching classes and offering internship opportunities.
Prior to joining Coco de Mer, Lucy held director positions at major brands including La Perla, Bendon and Victoria’s Secret.
She also developed and launched David Beckham’s Bodywear line.
