Provocative lingerie brand Something Wicked is experiencing unprecedented success after relaunching to trade in 2017, having doubled its target for wholesale.
The adventurous boudoir label, which was taken over by Steff McGrath in 2016, saw its sales quadruple in the three months to November after securing seven new listings, including Coco de Mer and online fashion retailer Farfetch.
Something Wicked has also achieved international fame, now selling in Germany, The Netherlands and Austria.
“We’ve achieved so much in the last year; the website revamp, creation of shoppable videos and new innovative product ranges have been the key drivers of our growth. We’re delighted with our listings success so far as we’ve exceeded initial expectations. We’re currently in discussions with John Lewis and we were selected to
present our collection to its panel of eight buyers,” said Steff.

Steff has streamlined the production side of the business, hiring two full-time seamstresses and fine tuning the quality of its garments.
All manufacturing continues to take place in Leeds, using luxurious materials such as Japanese plonge leather and French Chantilly lace.
“We are proud to be a British brand, and keeping the manufacturing in the UK was really important for us,” Steff told Lingerie Insight in a recent interview.
“From idea to creation, we make to demand and manufacture everything here in our studio. We don’t outsource huge orders abroad like many other brands do and we pride ourselves on sourcing only the best, premium materials from Great Britain. We know our customers and they only want the most premium, beautiful materials.”
Something Wicked has two primary shareholders – Steff McGrath and Leeds-based marketing agency, Home Marketing.
