Laura Simon joined Wacoal Europe as brand director in 2016 after previously working for global brand agency Brand Union as director of Business Development and Digital, and for WWP as global development director for P&G.
Laura has applied her expertise in brand communications and business strategy to realigning the Freya, Fantasie, Wacoal, Elomi, b.tempt’d and Goddess brands and securing their place within the current market.
Her rebranding efforts have been ongoing, finally being made public in July 2017, with the relaunch of the SS18 Freya social campaign, including Freya’s most recent podcast series.
The eight-part podcast, ‘When Life Gives You Melons’, hosted by TV presenter Maya Jama, featured inspirational women discussing everything from boobs, bras and breakups to friendships and careers.
Each episode in the series featured one of Freya’s best-selling product ranges, with host Jama featured in the lingerie online and on social media.
The move was part of Wacoal Europe’s strategy to redefine its portfolio of lingerie and swimwear brands, applying new visual identities and interaction principles.
With Freya, Wacoal Europe’s main goal is to attract a younger customer whilst retaining its existing customers.
The strategy behind the continued rebranding at Wacoal Europe is to refresh the connection with customers and create communities around the group of brands.
