Claudia Walker joined House of Fraser as a buying assistant six years ago and became the retailer’s lingerie and hosiery buyer in November 2015. Since then, the department has gone from strength to strength, exceeding sales predictions in 2016.
Walker has played a pivotal role in adding several new brands to the department, including Elle Macpherson Body, Fifty Shades Darker by Coco de Mer and Tommy Hilfiger, to name a few.
She has also driven growth across destination areas, including sports, shapewear and maternity. And she has been instrumental in relaying the lingerie brand flow with House of Fraser stores to improve the customer journey, creating clearly segmented destination areas and supporting the redevelopment of 10 stores for 2016.
In January, Lingerie Insight revealed that House of Fraser would unveil a dedicated activewear area in store and online this month.
Housing a blend of sports technology, street style and comfortable loungewear, the new department will consist of branded styles and a new own-brand collection.
Walker has worked with her team to carefully select branded activewear labels that will be housed in the new department, including Ted Baker ‘Fit to a T’, Seafolly Active and Bjorn Borg. Each style offers sports enhancing properties and functionality whilst featuring key prints such as marble, geometrics and florals.
Emerging brand Acai will also launch into five House of Fraser stores and online.
