Scotland’s First Minister-in-waiting, Nicola Sturgeon, gave her seal of approval to a 2014 UK Lingerie Awards finalist in an article featured in the Glasgow Evening Times last week.
Sturgeon commended the Awards and praised Glasgow-based Vanilla Blush, which is hoping to be crowned the Post Surgery Brand of the Year at the ceremony.
She told the paper: “It’s great news that Vanilla Blush has been shortlisted for these prestigious awards – a really strong example of a Glasgow company flying the flag for Scotland – and I wish them the best of luck.”
Sturgeon will officially become the next SNP leader at a party conference this weekend and replace Alex Salmond as the First Minister of Scotland. She will be the first female First Minister of Scotland.
Vanilla Blush, which specialises in ostomy lingerie and swimwear, is up against Jamu Australia, Royce and Nicola Jane in the Post Surgery Brand of the Year category.
The 2014 UK Lingerie Awards, in association with Wacoal Eveden, will be held at takes place at Freemasons’ Hall in London’s Covent Garden on the evening of December 3.
