Plus size lingerie retailer eyes lingerie and swimwear market entry

Viva Voluptuous, a luxury online retailer for plus size swimwear and lingerie, has announced it is relying on public support to make its intimate apparel industry debut.

The brand launched its first 30-day crowdfunding campaign last week (Tuesday 27 Feb) via the Kickstarter website, with the goal of raising £5,000 towards developing a new exciting swimwear range for plus-size women.

The UK-based plus size brand, which offers sizes spanning from underband 36 to 48 inches and cup size D to I, is urging the general public to join the curvy revolution by helping to expand its sexy and supportive range for plus size women by offering its new swimwear collection on a reward basis to those who pre-order.

Founder and director of Viva Voluptuous Ltd, Liz Willis, stated: “We have already been blown away by the amount of support we have received in our quest to ensure that every woman feels sexy and supported in her lingerie and swimwear, no matter what her size, and we are thrilled to be offering our loyal customers and other brand advocates the chance to help advance the revolution.”

Viva Voluptuous claims to be the only brand world-wide that refuses to skimp on fabric or change its designs to dowdy prints and beige when underband sizes surpass 38 inches.

Willis added: “With the number of plus size women in the UK on the rise and the body positivity movement gaining momentum, we feel that it is very important for companies like us to keep our foot on the accelerator and continue to not only meet, but exceed the needs of a group of women who have been ignored in the undergarment community for far too long. We believe that Kickstarter and the support of the general public will go a long way helping us do this.”
