Plus-size lingerie ad rejected by TV networks

A new advert for plus-size retailer Lane Bryant has been banned from two major US TV networks for being ‘indecent’.

The advertising campaign stars Ashley Graham, who recently featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated, and a team of other models celebrating their bodies and wearing lingerie.

But the ad has been banned by ABC and NBC, with TV execs from NBC asking Lane Bryant to make a ‘minor edit to comply with broadcast indecency guidelines’, reports TMZ.

Now, Lane Bryant is fighting back, snubbing the networks and posting the video on Youtube, where is has been seen more than 800,000 times.

The retailer also tweeted the video, writing: “The networks didn’t want you to see this. But we do. Share. Tag. Show everyone what #ThisBody’s made for.”

This isn’t the first time a Lane Bryant ad has been banned. In 2010, an advert featuring Ashley Graham trying on underwear was deemed too inappropriate to be aired on ABC.
