The aim is to attract global retailers and promote Colombia as ‘the best kept secret in the Americas’.

Colombia is largest exporter of lingerie in South America, according to Eurovet, the organiser behind Mode City.

Moreover, Colombia was the world’s third-largest exporter of control apparel in 2016, with sales reaching $45.1 million, a report by TradeMap found.

“The Colombian garment industry is competitive and very well positioned on the international market,” said ProColombia president Felipe Jaramillo.

“ProColombia has chosen Mode City to stimulate exports in this sector because it acts as a laboratory of trends and a meeting point for key buyers.”

Juliana Villegas, vice president of Exports at ProColombia will discuss the strengths and potentials of the Colombian textile industry at the trade show’s conference room at 11am tomorrow.
