Panache founder assaulted in Sheffield park

Panache founder Anthony Power, 78, is reportedly fighting for his life with a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain after being attacked in a Sheffield park, last Monday.

His attacker, who police believe wanted the keys to Mr. Power’s car, made away with his iPhone and cash during the horrific incident.

Mr. Power is credited with creating one of the UK’s most successful lingerie brands when he launched Panache in 1982. He retired five years ago after his son John Power took over the helm of the family business. His other son, Danny, also works for the firm as business development manager.

A Panache spokeswoman said: “Mr Power is a self-made man who founded international brand Panache over 30 years ago and which now employs over 120 people locally.

“As a close, family-run company, this incident has come as a big shock to the business and our thoughts and prayers are with the Power family at this difficult and private time.”
