Tallulah love managing director Michelle Taylor has been turned down by the Palace of Versailles, after she sent a message requesting to use the location for a lingerie shoot on the advice of a Twitter fan.
The designer announced on her Twitter page on Monday that she was looking for location in Paris, which she could use next week to shoot her latest collection.
She wrote: “Looking for a vintage glam location in Paris for photoshoot next week..anyone suggest..old theatre, bar? Somewhere that wont cost the earth?”
In response to a suggestion by a fan that Taylor should try some nearby cheataus, she wrote: “if it was say cream and gold or pale mint and gold..in fact i LOVE PALACE OF VERSAILLES.
A few hours later, after the Palace got back to her, she added: “Okay just had an email from the Palace of Versailles saying they cannot allow a lingerie shoot…at least I tried!!ha ha,x"
The Palace of Versailles plays host to a number of photo shoots, documentaries and advertisements each year.
On its website, it claims: “The Château de Versailles welcomes every year many film shoots and is very convenient for photo shoots.
“The Château de Versailles and grounds are precious settings for shooting photographs, documentaries, advertisements, docudramas and feature films like Sofia Coppola’s Marie-Antoinette.”
The lingerie designer also considered Montparnasse graveyard as an option, before abandoning the idea over fears that it would be too cold.
Readers are encouraged to submit suggestions on Tallulah Love’s Twitter page: http://twitter.com/#!/tallulahlove. The mandate is that the location be ‘old world, darky and vintagey.’
