Europe’s first shop specialising in ostomy underwear was opened by Scotland’s health minister Alex Neil last week.
Vanilla Blush, which was set up to banish “British Jones” knickers and design smart and glamourous underwear for men and women who have undergone stoma surgery, opened in Bridgeton, Glasgow on Friday.

Speaking to local reporters, the health minister praised Nicola Dames, the shop owner and founder of the company, for bringing glamour into the lives of people who are perhaps struggling with body issues.
He said: "Nicola has shown what can be done by bringing her unique product on to the high street.
"Not only has she been enterprising and helped the regeneration of the East End by locating in it, but, as health secretary, I commend her for doing something very positive to help those with colostomies feel and be positive about themselves."
Dames launched Vanilla Blush in 2008, two years after having her own stoma surgery.
