An independent lingerie store based in the Isle of Wight is joining the Breast Cancer Awareness drive by promoting a number of in-store initiatives this month.

Sugar and Spice Lingerie, located in the town of Newport, is inviting pre- and post-surgery ladies to the store on October 27 to discuss their lingerie needs and have a professional fitting.

Sarah Gilbert from Royce and Melissa Reeve from Nicola Jane will also be in attendance to talk about their products and provide expert advice.

Sheila Wilson, owner of Sugar and Spice, said: “We are expert bra fitters and we like to find a bra for each of our customers that makes them feel supported, comfortable and confident.

“We stock ranges by Royce the wirefree bra experts, and we are now introducing a swimwear range from Nicola Jane, the post surgery experts.”

Alongside the fitting session, neighbours to Sugar and Spice, restaurant Gods Providence House, will be offering tea and scones at a reduced price and at least £1 for every sale will be donated to the Against Breast Cancer.

Sugar and Spice will also continue to promote its bra recycling bank, which allows customers to discard their unwanted bras, with any funds raised going to the charity.

The bank also prevents usable bras from going into landfill and offers them a new lease of life in developing countries such as Togo, Ghana and Kenya, where bras remain too expensive to produce locally.
