New lingerie boutique to open in Sheffield

A new independent lingerie boutique will open in Sheffield next week.

Frillies will open on Bridge Street, Penistone, offering an extensive range of everyday and luxury lingerie, as well as swimwear and nightwear.

The boutique was founded by Rebecca Barnett, a former massage therapist and marketing manager.

Finishing touches are now being made to the store before the grand opening on Friday, October 14.

“I found my boutique through a friend – a rundown shop which was part of a launderette.  It needed totally gutting and so I helped with the renovation and it is almost ready, with a week to go,” Barnett told Lingerie Insight.

New to the lingerie business, Barnett decided to open her boutique after taking a course in lingerie retailing and visiting Moda in February.

“My learning curve has been incredible – I’ve planned a website, ordered stock, helped gut and rebuild the store, ordered shop fittings, set up a Facebook page and website…the list is endless, but it’s been fantastic,” she said.

“There still seems such a lot to do to get the boutique ready, but the reaction I have had from friends, family and local people has been brilliant.  I am really looking forward to running my little boutique.”

Frillies will stock lingerie by Empreinte, Aubade, Wacoal, Fantasie, Freya, Elomi, Tallulah Love and Royce.

The store will also carry nightwear by Eberjey, Mey, Vanilla Night & Day and swimwear by Poshtotti.
