A new store has opened in Newcastle specialising in steel boned corsets and retro lingerie.
Through the Looking Glass on the city’s Hood Street is the brainchild of ex-policeman Stew White, who said that he noticed a gap in the market for a specialist boutique.
White told local newspaper The Journal: “I decided to take the plunge and launch my own business after I saw a gap in the market for a place that specialised in hand-made corsets. I’ve seen many of these types of stores in the London area but nothing similar in Newcastle.”
The store carries a wide range of corsets from brands including Valkyrie and Velda Lauder and lingerie from brands including Tempest, Ellipse, Tallulah Love and Kiss Me Deadly.
Through the Looking Glass also has an e-commerce store.
