New Bust Trust calls on lingerie sector to educate women on breast health

A new organisation is working to bring the lingerie industry together in supporting charities and firms that are focused on the education of breast health and wellbeing.

The Bust Trust will support those organisations that are choosing to highlight the importance of breast care throughout all stages of a woman’s life and bring issues to the attention of influential government and community bodies.

It has already partnered with Portsmouth University’s breast care unit, Project Fit, which is working to educate the next generation of women about the importance of breast health and wellbeing.

The Bust Trust is also supporting CoppaFeel!, whose mission is to remind women about the importance of regularly checking their breasts for signs of breast cancer; Women in Sport, which champions the right of every woman and girl to take part in, and benefit from, sport; and the National Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline.

The organisation is now calling for lingerie retailers, manufacturers and trade press to join forces, to engage with women of all ages to feel good in their own skin by considering their breast health.

Commenting on the official launch, The Bust Trust said in a statement: “Until now our industry hasn’t come together solely to support the good and valuable work undertaken by such charities who are aiming at improving the lives of not only our customers, but our mothers, sisters, aunties, friends, neighbours and colleagues to support and raise awareness of all the issues relating to women’s breast health.”

Interest in The Bust Trust has already been registered by a variety of retailers and major department stores. For more information, please click here.
