Canadian intimate apparel company Knix Wear has announced the launch of its 8-in-1 bra after raising $1.5M through crowdfunding.
In the last eight months, the brand has raised $1,551,287 (£809,980) from more than 19,000 backers through Kickstarter and Indiegogo campaigns, surpassing its initial campaign goal of $30,000 by more than 5,000%.
The Kickstarter campaign remains the most funded female and fashion Kickstarter to date, according to Knix Wear.
The Evolution Bra, billed ‘the world’s most advanced bra’, is an everyday style designed for active lifestyles.
It is fully reversible with interchangeable and can be worn eight different ways.
It has a patented bonded construction which eliminates the need for underwires and moulds to the wearer’s body, while the four-way stretch reduces impact on the bust.
Other key benefits of the bra include anti-odor, anti-microbial, moisture wicking and quick-dry technologies.
“We knew there was a market for the Evolution Bra based on our extensive customer research, however, our Kickstarter and Indiegogo campaigns confirmed that women are tired of buying uncomfortable bras,” says Joanna Griffiths, ‘chief Knixpert’ at Knix Wear.
“Women are ready to embrace a new wave of bras that address issues that make wearing a bra everyday an unpleasant experience. We are excited to lead that charge and make the Evolution Bra more widely available to women everywhere.”
As part of the launch of the Evolution Bra, Knix Wear will launch a new bra sizing tool on its website next month.
The bra features eight sizes that span from 32A to 40DDD/E and 42 DD.
The Evolution Bra is now available for purchases in sizes 1-4, and sizes 5-8 will be available in August.
Knix Wear is an active intimates brand based in Toronto. In March, the brand confirmed to Lingerie Insight that it had started distributing in the UK and will soon launch its UK website.
